EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A large drug seizure was made at one of El Paso's ports of entry.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers found 111 pounds of methamphetamine in a vehicle's fuel tank Sunday, according to a CBP news release.
Two individuals that arrived from Mexico in an SUV at the Ysleta Port of Entry were identified as suspects.
The individuals were referred for a secondary inspection of the vehicle, which included a screening by a canine team and and x-ray exam.
A total of 99 bundles containing methamphetamine were found in the tank.
The female driver and a man, both U.S. citizens, were arrested.
The narcotics and vehicle were seized by CBP.
The meth's estimated street value is more than $330,000.
