The latest survey from the personal finance website, WalletHub, ranks New Mexico as the 3rd most stressed U.S. state, while Texas isn't far behind in 9th place.

WalletHub says that it looked at more than 40 key indicators of stress, ranging from the most hours worked per week to credit scores and poverty levels to come up with its rankings.

For example, New Mexico ranked 2nd for family-related stress and 3rd for money-related stress, while Texas finished 2nd in the nation for work-related stress and topped the list when it comes to the most hours worked.

New Mexico also has the country's 3rd highest proportion of its population living in poverty and the 2nd highest divorce and crime rates.
