Court filings allege the man suspected of killing a pregnant woman in downtown Seattle approached her car and started shooting into it at random.

The suspect is being held in jail on charges of murder, assault and unlawful possession of a firearm. Prosecutors on Wednesday indicated they are still reviewing the case and may file formal charges in the next few days.

According to a police report released Wednesday, the suspect is seen on video shooting into the vehicle of 34-year-old Eina Kwon in the Belltown neighborhood around 11:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Seattle police detectives said there was no interaction between Kwon and the suspect prior to him approaching the car and firing his gun into the driver’s side window.

The police report says witnesses directed arriving officers to the suspect who remained in the area. When officers took the suspect into custody, he was reportedly yelling "I did it, I did it," according to the report.

Kwon, who was 32 weeks pregnant, was rushed to the hospital where she died. Her baby was delivered and initially survived, but later died in the hospital as well. An autopsy found Kwon had been shot four times, according to the report.

A 37-year-old man who was in the car with Kwon was injured in the shooting and taken to the hospital and was released Wednesday morning.

When police questioned the suspect about the shooting, he told officers that he fired because he claimed he "saw a gun in the car," the report states. Detectives, however, said that statement contradicts the video evidence of the shooting.

KOMO is not naming the suspect because he has not been charged. He was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday afternoon but refused to enter the courtroom. He is scheduled for another court appearance on Thursday.
