As football players from the University of Texas at El Paso and New Mexico State University get ready to battle on the field, fans will have the opportunity to have a fiesta before kickoff on Saturday.

The second Hispanic Heritage Day will entertain fans during tailgating

“The fan fiesta will start at 3:30 on Saturday and it will be family-friendly fun. That will go from 3:30 to 7, leading up to kickoff,” said Adam Young with NM State Sports Properties.

NM State Athletics has partnered with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to bring the fiesta to Aggie Memorial Stadium.

“Luchador Wrestlers, Mariachi bands, a lot of vendors will be out there as well. Just a lot of family fun,” Young said.

Young said it’s important to throw a party at every home football game at Aggie Memorial Stadium.

“We’re trying to make it more than just a game. Have the stuff to do for the families to do leading up to the game. It’s a full day,” Young said.

Young said it will be 4 hours of fun stuff to do before the start of the football game.

“The fan fiesta is free. It’s affordable family fun. Tickets for the football game are not free, but even those are affordable for a huge rivalry that’s been going on since the early 1900s,” Young said.

The Hispanic Heritage Day starts at 3:30 pm at Aggie Memorial Stadium.

Kick-off is scheduled at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased by calling the Pan Am Center ticket office at 575-646-1420 or by visiting the NMSU Ticketmaster page.
