The El Paso Rhinos will host a bear toss for its Saturday game in memory of a UTEP professor and well-respected member of the community.

The puck drops at 7 p.m. on both days. Friday and Saturday will be the team's final two games of the season.

Saturday's game will include the annual Teddy Bear Toss in memory of Joni Arnett.

Arnett was a former model, UTEP professor, Rhino season ticket holder, and well-respected member of the community.

Arnett tragically lost her life in July of 2007.

She was involved in many charities throughout her young life, and giving, especially to organizations that benefitted children, was very important to her.

She graduated from Coronado High School in 1999 where she was an honor student and cheerleader all four years. She graduated Cum Laude from UTEP with a degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice; then went on to graduate with a Master Degree, 1st in her class, in Sociology.

Fans are encouraged to bring stuffed animals and toss them onto the ice after the Rhinos’ first goal.

All stuffed animals will be donated to local children in need.

The Rhinos will also show their appreciation to the best fans in junior hockey with Fan Appreciation Night on Saturday.

The game will feature giveaways by MT Needles and a free raffle with prizes from Target, Hotel Paso del Norte, Massage Envy, Bel Viso of El Paso, Butterfield Golf Club, Chick-fil-A, and Unknot Thai Spa.

Tickets start at $5 and can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com or the Coliseum Box Office.

With a valid military ID Card or veteran identification card, active and retired military personnel, veterans and their families receive free admission to all home games.

For details regarding ticketing, please call 915-533-9899.
