El Paso County Commissioners are scheduled to receive a presentation with some fee proposals from the Parks and Recreation Department during Thursdays special meeting.

The purpose of the fee changes is to increase tourism, strengthen the parks budgets and promote collaboration and engagement, according to the presentation.

One of the proposals in the presentation would increase the rental fees of the Pavillion from $65 to $100 for residents while also requiring a $300 refundable security deposit.

If the agenda item is approved by commissioners, residents who use the golf courses could also see fee additions.

The proposal would charge $5 for pull cart rentals and $15 for golf club rentals.

Aquatic parks would also see a slight increase in fees, charging people $13 dollars per hour per lane rental.

There would also be a $10 increase for competing in summer and winter leagues at sports parks.

The Parks and Recreation Department is looking to make some updates to the facility rental fee waiver policy to include partnership opportunities and guidelines.
