El Paso is represented in 5 ways at the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

The latest inductee into the world's premiere basketball hall of fame is former UTEP star, Tim Hardaway.

He's one of this year's 13 inductees.

Hardaway played his college career at UTEP and helped lead the Miners to the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament in both 1988 and 1989.

His professional playing career included 5 NBA teams, but he spent most of his time with the Golden State Warriors and the Miami Heat.

Hardaway was a 5-time NBA All-Star who was known for his crossover dribble which TV announcers dubbed the "UTEP two-step."

Besides Hardaway, his legendary coach at UTEP, Don Haskins, is also a member of the Naismith Hall of Fame, as is his historic 1966 Texas Western National Championship Team which was the first to have an all-black starting lineup in a championship game.

Another one of Haskins' players, Nolan Richardson, is also in the Basketball Hall of Fame as a coach.

An El Paso native, Richardson began his coaching career at Bowie High School and later led the Arkansas Razorbacks to 3 final-four appearances, including a National Championship in 1994.

Finally, Nate Archibald was a 6-time NBA All-Star after playing for Coach Haskins at UTEP from 1967 to 1970. He was also part of the Boston Celtics team that won the 1981 NBA title.
