Basketball in the Barrio hosting fundraiser event Friday

EL PASO, Texas — Basketball in the Barrio is hosting a fundraiser event Friday, June 9 at the Lucky Bar and Grill.

The event will feature special performances by Mark Moses Alvarado Trio.

In 1992, Basketball in the Barrio was founded by Rus Bradburd and Steve Yellen and returns for its 31st year.

From June 9-11, 2023, children from Segundo Barrio and Chamizal neighborhoods participate in El Paso’s annual summer camp where they gain leadership, literary and basketball skills while celebrating border culture.

The camp will take place at the Armijo Center, at 700 E. 7th Ave.
